A Facebook post seen by NAIJ.com indicates that a girl has been allegedly shot by an unidentified soldier.
The post authored by a youth activist, Friday Bako, revealed that the girl named Simi, is a 17 year old SS1 student of GSS Sopp in Riyom local government area of Plateau state.
“She was shot on the thigh at close range by one of soldiers manning the checkpoint at Sopp because she allegedly refused his lustful advances.
“On the 19th of October this year during a protest by the community against the soldiers for causing the dead of two boys, this particular soldier singled out Simi and shot her.
“He wanted to finish her off with another shot but was stopped by a fellow soldier who was more sympathetic. He proceeded to kick her several times in the face and body.
“Eventually Simi and two others, Danjuma Kaze and his son Irimiya who were shot on the leg and jaw respectively are currently receiving medical attention at the Plateau Specialist Hospital, Jos,” Bako wrote.

Meanwhile, the federal lawmaker representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom federal constituency, Barr. I. D. Gyang has called for full investigation of abuses on human rights of his constituents most especially the recent alleged killings and attacks on innocent and harmless civilians in Sopp Riyom local government area of Plateau state.
He decried how his people are constantly being harassed and molested by people who are supposed to protect them.
He made the statement when he visited Simi in the hospital.
A text message sent to Nigerian army spokesman, Brigadier-General Sani Usman, by NAIJ.com was not replied as at the time this report was published.
In another development, an Oyo state high court has given an order stopping soldiers of the 2 Division from demolishing houses in of Mesiogo Estate at Akobo area of Ibadan, Oyo state.
The residents obtained the order which also barred the soldiers from doing anything that will threaten the peace of the people.
