Dr Victor Oye, national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), on Wednesday, November 15, says the defection of Emeka Ojukwu jnr, to the ruling All Progressives Congress is inconsequential to the re-election of Obiano in the coming governorship election in Anambra state.
The APGA chieftain described Emeka Ojukwu jnr, as “a prodigal son for now”.

Chief Oye said Ojukwu Jnr has the right to belong to any party he desires. He, however, believed the son of the late APGA leader would still come back to his root where his father and himself started, ‘his root is APGA’..
On his part, Evang Chinedu Obigwe, National Coordinator APGA Media Warriors Forum, described Emeka Ojukwu jnr’s defection to APC as a good riddance to bad rubbish, Vanguard reports.
“His ill-advised and monetary induced actions pose no threat to Governor Obiano.
The Governor will clinch a landslide victory at Nnewi, Ojukwu’s home town,” he finally said.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that Mr Emeka Ojukwu jnr, son of the founder of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ojukwu jnr made his declaration on Wednesday, November 15, in Awka, at the grand finale campaign of the APC candidate for the Anambra 2017 governorship election, Dr Tony Nwoye.
According to him, his decision to join the party was to protect the interest of the Igbos.

Ojukwu jnr, who was adorned in a toga of his new party, said it was time for the people of the southeast region to move from what he described as ‘the recession of the periphery to the centre.’
