Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, renowned human rights lawyer, has stated that he would sue the federal government on Wednesday, November 15, over injuries he sustained after falling into a manhole, Punch reports.
The lawyer made his comments on Tuesday, November 14, at the National Stakeholders Summit on Whistleblowing in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

NAIJ.com gathers that Falana disclosed that he was wearing Plaster of Paris because of the accident.

He stated: “I am sure you saw me limping and using a walking stick when I was coming in. It is because I fell into a manhole while walking to my office on Shehu Shagari Way.
“I broke my leg and I am even wearing Plaster of Paris and I was even hospitalised. So, I won’t like the ordinary Nigerian, leave it to God.
“I have decided that tomorrow I will sue the federal government.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, said he would sue the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government if the government obtained a $2bn loan from China.
Mr Falana said the move would plunge the nation into more indebtedness, and suggested instead, that the government intensify its efforts to recover some funds totaling about $200bn which were either not remitted to the Federation Account or stolen from the nation’s treasury.
