The Nigerian army has continued its onslaught against the deadly Boko Haram group as its latest operation led to the death of one of them which also recovering some of their things.
In a statement by Sani Kukasheka Usman who is the spokesperson of the Nigerian army, the operation was carried out on Friday, November 3 in Borno.

He said the soldiers recovered 4 bicycles, some Mechanical tools which aids the terrorists vehicle movement, clothes and explosive wires from the ambush site.

Troops of 152 Battalion, 21 Brigade Nigerian Army, on Operation LAFIYA DOLE, in furtherance of blockade and clearance operations DEEP PUNCH 2 and their resolve to rout out the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists hibernating in some areas, ambushed a group of unsuspecting Boko Haram terrorists at the early hours of Friday, 3rd November 2017, along Banki-Bula Yobe road in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

The troops sprung the ambush on the terrorists and neutralised 1 of them and recovered 4 Bicycles, some Mechanical tools which aids the terrorists vehicle movement, clothes and explosive wires from the ambush site.

Similarly, the troops of 151 Battalion, 21 Brigade Nigerian Army, also ambushed some unsuspecting Boko Haram terrorists who were attempting to cross into the Sambisa forest at about 7:40pm same day, along BOCOST-Bama road. Troops neutralized a large number of them while some of the terrorists escaped with gun shot wounds.

The gallant troops rescued a 6 years old boy and recovered several items which includes, 8 Bicycles, blankets, Jerricans, plates, mats, spanners, cutlasses, clothes, and a pair of Boko Haram terrorists Special Forces Uniform. The rescued boy is receiving further at the Brigade's medical facility.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian defence headquarters reacted to media reports that the inaction of the Air Force caused the death of an army officer and eight soldiers in Yobe state.
The security officials were said to have been killed by Boko Haram insurgents in an attack.
The defence headquarters called the accusation of the Nigerian Air Force ill-motivated news saying it should be disregarded by the general public as it lacks merit.
