N-Power Nigeria empowers Nigerian youth and gives them a shot at a better future. Missed the opportunity to register with N-Power in 2017? Do not worry, you can always try next year. While you are waiting, however, take a minute to learn how to register for N-Power, so that you are prepared for the 2018/2019 N-Power registration. Check it out!
Eligibility for the N-Power program
Before you even think about applying for one of N-Power programmes, you should figure out whether you are eligible or not. You can apply for an N-Power programme, if you:
- are between 18 and 35 years of age;
- are an undergraduate or a graduate without a job;
- have problem-solving and analytical skills;
- have the ability to tutor yourself;
- have at least basic illustration skills that allow you to do graphics and animations.
If you have checked all of the aforementioned points, then congratulations! You are eligible for N-Power registration. However, this is not even the first step in your journey. You still have to register, pass the required tests and be picked for the programme. We will try to help you with the first part, which is the registration process.
What you will need to register with N-Power
Once you have figured out that you are indeed eligible for the N-Power programme, it is time to start preparing the necessary things for your application. They include:
- Username and password. Like with any other programme, you will need these in order to register and access your application. Make them memorable enough so that you will not forget either of them at any point of the application process.
- Functional e-mail address. You will need it both for registration and for further correspondence. You will receive all the updates on your application to your e-mail, so make sure it works before applying.
- Certificate of your degree. N-Power is primarily meant for people that have already received some sort of higher education but have no clue how to apply the knowledge and skills they have. The certificate is proof that you have a degree.
- A BVN. In case you do not know, BVN stands for Bank Verification Number, which is a biometric system of verification that allows to put a face to a bank account. This is essential for your application, because if your BVN is not valid or does not match, you will not be able to move forward in your application process.
- NYSC number and discharge certificate. Many Nigerian structures require this in their applications, and N-Power is no different. So go rummage in your papers and find that National Youth Service Corps certificate!
- CV. As the main purpose of N-Power is to find work for young people, you will need to show that you have some knowledge and experience in the field you are applying for.
- Passport photographs.
After you have collected all of these things, you can proceed to the registration itself (once it is open).
