The governor of Katsina state Aminu Masari on Monday, July 31, revealed why majority of the Northern leaders are afraid of restructuring of Nigeria.
The governor while speaking during the launching of the production of PVC pipes in the state said over dependence on resources from the centre is drawing Northern leaders away from accepting the restructuring of Nigeria.

Masari said the continued dependence of shared allocation from the federal government must stop if sustainable progress must be achieved in Nigeria.
“This over dependence on allocation from the centre must stop if we are to progress.
"We have the population, we have both human and material resources; but we must have the political will to do the right thing," Masari said.

He added that the state governments must ensure adequate support for medium and small scale businesses in Nigeria.
The governor said such businesses would help provide revenue for states and local governments as well create jobs for citizens.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that a Northern elder Tanko Yakassai had said that there cannot be restructuring in Nigeria without the support of the North.
Yakassai there is no need for the Northern region of Nigeria to panic as the North still has an upper hand in decision making in Nigeria.
