The herdsmen invasion was disclosed by the publicity secretary of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin on Tuesday, August 29.
The invasion was also confirmed by the personal assistant to Chief Falae, Captain Moshood Raji (rtd.), who said the attackers were dispersed by the police escorts of the elder statesman who shot continuously into the air.
Speaking on the attack, Odumakin in a communique accused the federal government of being insensitive to the incessant attacks of the Fulani herdsmen on the people of the south-west and middle-belt region of the country.
“We are aggrieved that the Federal Government has continued to turn the other eye while the herdsmen continue their unlawful activities over the country, especially the southern Nigeria and middle belt," he said.
