Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state on Tuesday, August 29, alleged that his life and those of other members of the Anambra state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries committee were threatened during the conduct of exercise.
NAIJ.com gathered that Umahi, who served as the chairman of the committee while presenting the report of his committee to the Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee of the party, however, did not mention the names of those who threatened them.

He said: “There is no form of threat we didn’t get even as governors. But after we said our prayers, we said whatever will happen should happen.
“We must do away with the mindset of people going to assignments like this to seek money. We had no interaction with anybody. We did everything possible to maintain high integrity.
“We must not send persons that we can’t vouch for their character to conduct party primaries.”
He, however, urged party members to desist from heading to court over decisions reached by the leadership of the party, noting that the import of the Supreme Court judgement means that decision of the party is Supreme.
“Any Member going to Court over dissolution of party executive is ignorant.”
However the Ebonyi state governor called for an early conduct of the party’s forthcoming convention.

Earlier, NAIJ.com reported that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may have settled for Mr Oseloka Obaze as its candidate in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra state.
Obaze emerged winner of the governorship primary election of the party in Anambra ahead of the election that holds in the coming weeks.
The report said Obaze, a former secretary to the Anambra state government, scored 672 out of the votes from a total of 958 delegates.
