UNILAG screening
In the first week of August, a lot of prospective students and other regular Nigerian citizens received a mass text. It said that the University of Lagos, commonly known as UNILAG, opened the online registration for their screening exercise of 2017/2018. According to the text, the registration was open from August 9th to August 31st 2017.

As it turned out, UNILAG had nothing to do with this text. On August 7-8, the university representatives wrote a statement on all of the available platforms debunking the rumours about 2017/2018 admission.
In their short post, UNILAG management stated that that text was a scam and that it ‘did not emanate from the University of Lagos’. They also advised people to ignore the message entirely.
A lot of Nigerian news outlets like Vanguard, DailyPost and Guardian have already posted about this news on their websites. It is our duty to share this information as well to help prevent the spread of false information.
