A Pakistani couple who has been married for over 24 years recently found out they are siblings.
The couple had been united in an arranged marriage over 24 years ago, SMACK reports.
The siblings had been separated as children after the tragic death of their parents which of course made not to know they are of same parents. After the death of their parents, the couple were said to have been adopted by different families until they later joined together again by marriage before the truth came out.

The bride said she thought they were cousins and not siblings and in Pakistan, marriage between cousins is allowed.
“We thought our marriage was normal, we thought we were cousins” explained Abdul Rahim, 47.
“Everybody in town knew we were brother and sister but no one had the courage to tell us until now,” said the sister turned wife, Aisha, in tears.
While every other person are shocked at the discovery, anthropologist Juliane Edwards, who has studied the case of inc*stuous arranged marriages in Pakistan for decades, is not surprised by their situation.

She explained that:
“It’s a cultural thing. When an endogamous consanguineous marriage, or marriages between cousins, is socially acceptable, then marriage between siblings doesn’t seem as far-fetched,” she explained.
“I’ve repeatedly studied cases in Pakistan where widowed fathers would marry one or more of their daughters,” she admitted.
