Mr. Basil Onuorah, the 38-year-old son of a farmer from Mmiata, Anam, in Anambra-west Council Area, Anambra state, has been elected by the Green Party of Nigeria (GPN), as its flagbearer for the upcoming governorship election in Anambra.
According to Vanguard, Onuorah managed to secure 100 votes from the 105 delegates who were accredited to vote.

The candidate, an industrialist and former governorship candidate, stated that if elected as governor, he will provide 3 million jobs within his first four years on the job.
He stated: “I have age on my side, I want to fight crime with jobs, I want to carry along two million unemployed youth and one million unemployed job seeking graduates along.”
Onuorah appealed to Anambrarians to join hands with him to lead the state out of its “lethargic governance”.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Nollywood star and son of the great Pete Edochie, Yul Edochie, was elected by the Democratic People’s Congress (DPC), as its flagbearer for the upcoming Anambra gubernatorial election.
The actor was elected unopposed during the party’s congress which held at Fun Surge Hotel, Awka.
