Nigeria's former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has said that the nation can show example to the world on how to treat minority groups by placing high priority to the treatment of its minorities.
NAIJ.com gathered that the former vice president on Wednesday, September 20, stated this in reaction to President Buhari’s address to the United Nations General Assembly.

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on a successful outing at the 72nd Session of United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday, September, 19.
Atiku in a statement from his media office in Abuja, said the president Buhari did the right thing by drawing the UN’s attention to the sufferings of Myanmar’s Rohingya people,
He said that minorities all over the world deserve the cooperation of majority groups
The former vice president aligns with the president’s message of gratitude to the international community for their efforts in the Lake Chad region which has helped bring succor to Nigerians affected by the scourge of terrorism.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, September 19, thanked the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for its support to Nigeria’s campaign against terrorism and insurgency with the donation of military hardware and pledge to further supply helicopters.

Buhari while speaking during a bilateral meeting with King Abdullah II shortly after his address to the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, said the very expensive donation of about 200 Armoured Fighting Vehicles “reflects true concern for Nigeria's security situation and genuine goodwill towards a friendly nation.”
