Editor's note: The Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai, on Monday, September 18, revealed that the Defence Headquarters did not declare the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) a terrorist organisation in Nigeria. This is coming on the heels of the recent declaration of IPOB as a terrorist organisation by the army.
Oyinemi Nicholas Endeley in this piece says the statement wasn't exactly a declaration but gave room for the necessary step to be taken.
I feel pity for the south east governors; they just called IPOB a terrorist group and now the COAS General Burantashi don leave them oooo; Em don change mouth, he said “ what the Defence Headquarters did was to make pronouncement. It wasn’t a declaration per se. But this has given room for the right step to be taken. I think the government is doing the right thing.
Biafra: IPOB pronouncement versus declaration
GOD FORBID! THE WHOLE THING IS SICKENING, HE SAID HE THINKS THE GOVERNMENT IS DOING THE RIGHT THING; EMPHASIS ON "HE THINKS"..... AND NOW WETIN THE SOUTH EASTERN GOVERNORS GO TALK???? SHAME
