No less than thousand former workers of Nigeria Airways on Wednesday, September 13, took to the streets to protest the delay of their over N78b severance benefits.
New Telegraph reports that they were particularly worried that over one year since the amount was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari over a year ago.
NAIJ.com gathered that the former workers pleaded with the president to compel the ministries of transportation and finance to expedite action on the disbursement.

It was learnt that many of them who protested with different inscriptions on their placards.
The placards read:''President Buhari, please prevail on the ministry of transportation to release the money to us.

''No national carrier takes off without our pension. In month of August, we lost 25 pensioners, honourable minister, please help us, our members are dying daily’’.
Sam Nzene, Nigeria Airways, said the e workers should be aware of what government is doing.

Nzene said: ''Since the approval came nobody told us what has been approved but as long as we are concerned, our total no st is N78billion''.
He said about 5909 pensioners are expected to benefit from the fund which was raised from N1.2trillion bond that he disclosed matured in June this year.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that workers at the ministry of information staged a protest calling for the removal of Lai Mohammed over what they described as bad staff welfare.
