Group members reject Rochas Okorocha’s N5.5m birthday cash giveaway; say it’s blood money

NAIJ.com gathered that some members of a Facebook group known as Igboist, rejected the N5.5million given to them by Governor Rochas Okorocha.

Governor Okorocha of Imo state who NAIJ.com reported got 27 cakes from some women representing the 27 local government areas of the state, may have decided to start celebrations early, even though his birthday is on September 22.

According to reports, he decided to give out N5.5million to a popular Facebook group, Igboist, through the group admin, Ebonyi state lawmaker, Maria Ude Nwachi aka ‘Afikpo Chic’, in honour of his 55th birthday.

However, in what may come as a surprise to many, most of the members of the group rejected the money, stating that it was 'blood money'.

Giving details of the requirements for the 'prize money' to be won, Maria wrote:
