A Nigerian journalist Amina Yuguda has won the third British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) world news Komla Dumor Award.
The journalist is a news presenter from Adamawa state. She presents on a local network known as Gotel Television, located in Yola, the capital of Adamawa.
British Broadcasting Corporation created the award to honour a BBC World News presenter Komla Dumor who died in 2014.
In addition to the award, Yuguda would also start a three-month placement at the corporation's London office.

The Nigerian journalist expressed joy to being honoured for the award. She said: "I was overwhelmed with joy. Storytellers have always had an important role in Africa... this is what defines us. Today journalists are taking on that responsibility."
According to the corporation’s spokesperson Francesca Unsworth, Yuguda was a worthy winner of the award.
