Dr Cairo Ojougboh, the former factional deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has left the party along with his loyalists.
The defectors threw their party cards into the waste bin at Ojougboh's home in Agbor, Ika South local government area of Delta state.

The ceremony was witnessed by the minister of Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-South zone.
Kachikwu conveyed the goodwill of President Muhammadu Buhari to the defectors.
Chief Hilliard Eta, APC South South national vice chairman, told the defectors that the doors of opportunities in the party were open to the new group to take over Delta 2019 campaign Daily Trust reports.
NAIJ.com had reported that some loyalists of Ekiti state Governor Ayo Fayose had moved to the camp of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Prince Dayo Adeyeye.

Among those who dumped the governor are: former Commissioner for Public Utilities, Mr. Deji Adesua; former factional House of Assembly Speaker, Dele Olugbemi; and a Special Assistant, Alhaji Musa Kanga.
