NAIJ.com earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly sent northern governors to the south-east in a bid to secure peace after riots broke out in Abia state over deployment of the military to the area.
The governors are also expected to visit Cross River and Rivers. The team of five governors is led by Kashim Shetimma (Borno), who is also the chairman of northern governors forum.
As the tension between northerners and the southeast continues to rise, the Cane Durbar 2017 (Hawan Kara) at Fagge local government of Kano state took place on Saturday, September 16, 2017.
The Durbar went well with the youths passing through all markets where the Igbos run their business including Kofar Wambai Market, Sabon Gari and France road and the areas where they reside to show support and to assure them safety.

Meanwhile, the police in Abia state have highlighted some of the crimes alleged to have been committed by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) during the recent riots that took place in the state.

The police claimed that soldiers recovered Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and petrol bombs from the house of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB.
