- ASRADI wrote to President Buhari to disclose how much he spent in London for medical treatment
- The group said it gave the president seven days to respond
- It also asked the governor of the CBN to disclose how much foreign currency was released to the president
The Advocacy for Societal Rights Advancement and Development Initiative (ASRADI) has written to President Muhammadu Buhari demanding the details of his medical bills.
The president had spent 104 days in London for medical treatment and according to The Punch, the group demanded that the president release the financial details of his medical treatment.

In the letter signed by its executive director, Adeolu Oyinloye, the group also wanted Buhari to disclose how much was spent on parking the presidential aircraft at Stansted Airport for the entire 104 days that he was in the UK.
The group said: “Who defrayed the parking charges of the aircraft that conveyed you to the United Kingdom? How many crew members accompanied you and the aircraft? For how long were the crew members stationed in the United Kingdom? How much was incurred in allowances for the crew? How much did it cost to accommodate the crew members in the United Kindgom?”
The group reminded the president that according to the Freedom of Information Act, it is entitled to a response within seven days.
Another letter was also sent to the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, in which the group demanded how much of the country’s foreign currency was released for Buhari’s treatment.

“Kindly furnish us with information on the amount of foreign currency you released so far (cash/cheque/bank transfer or any other payment mode) in respect of President Muhammadu Buhari’s medical treatment and aircraft parking fees at Stansted Airport in the United Kingdom.
“As the Freedom of Information Act 2011 prescribed, we expect your reply within seven days of the receipt of this application.”
Meanwhile, online newspaper, Sahara Reporters, reported that President Buhari will leave New York for London today, September 21.
The newspaper in a tweet on Thursday, September 21, also reported that the president is going to London to see his doctors on Saturday, September 23, for a scheduled medical appointment.
