Buhari was duly briefed on the poor condition of State House Clinic 1 year ago - CMD

- Documents have shown President Muhammadu Buhari was duly informed about the condition of the State house Clinic

- The chief medical director of the clinic wrote three different letters to the president on the matter

- The letters were sent through the chief of staff to the president, Abba Kyari

Following the outburst by First Lady Aisha Buhari, documents have shown that President Muhammadu Buhari was adequately notified on the poor state of the State House Clinic at the Presidential Villa.

Premium Times reports that the chief medical director of the State House Clinic, Hussain Munir, in different letters informed the president of the condition of the clinic.

Munir in his letters, one of which was dated August 22, 2016, raised concerns on inadequate funding for the hospital.

The CMD also said there was non-provision of funds for basic necessities of the clinic including drug.

He said out of N290.4 million approved for the purchase of drug and consumables in the clinic in 2017, only N29 million has been spent.

He also said no fund has been expended on capital projects within the clinic.

For 2016, the CMD also said that only N25 million out of N3.8 billion approved for the clinic was spent, an amount lesser that the N73 million and N63 million expended by the clinic on the same items in 2015 and 2014 respectively.

In another letter dated October 3, the CMD said the attention of the clinic has been drawn to numerous challenges without any response from the presidency.

Outlining the conditions of the clinic, Munir's letters were written to the chief of staff to the president, Abba Kyari on three different occasion.

The last letter was written on November 13, 2015.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that the wife of the president while speaking at the stakeholders meeting on Reproductive, Maternal, Nutrition, Child Advocacy and Health and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) at the Villa condemned the poor state of the clinic.

Aisha also criticised the management for the redundancy, inefficiency of the clinic despite having a budget of N3 billion.

She also accused the clinic and its management of lacking basic tools and consumables for operation including syringe and drug.
