Senator Ibikunle Amosun, the Ogun state governor, on Friday, October 20, said all the rumourmongers peddling falsehood on the recent alleged raid of his private residence in Lagos, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), will be sent to jail.
Nigerian Tribune reports that Amosun vowed that those behind the rumour would be smoked out, saying that the lies generated a lot of reactions from far and near.
He made this known at the Town Hall Meeting on the 2018 Budget organised by the Ministry of Budget and Planning.

According to him, “Let me assure you: these people are going to jail. I can assure you of that. We are going to smoke them out to serve as a deterrent.
‘’They will go to jail. It has happened before. You, our royal fathers, please leave them alone and don’t intercede for them. They made a mistake and they will go to jail because they deserve to go to jail.”
The governor also debunked the rumour that he impregnated a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, who reportedly had twins for him less than a year ago.
Amosun revealed that the news gained so much traction, that his mother-in-law called him to confirm.

He said: “There was a time they said I have born twins outside my marriage. They would just write rubbish. You sit in one corner and write rubbish? Did you know that my mother-in-law called me and asked about this twins issue?
“I don’t know if my (elder) brother is here. If you are looking for twins, go to the likes of my brother. All the wives that I may need, my dad has had them for me. Eleven! What else do I need another wife for? Even one wife is a problem.''
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that there was grief recently in the state as one of the security aides to the governor, Busoye Olayinka, died in a ghastly motor accident on Thursday night.
