- Frank Lampard says Didier Drogba was always intense before big games
- Drogba single-handedly won the Champions League for Chelsea in 2012
- Lampard and Drogba were pivotal members of Chelsea's most successful era
Chelsea legends Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba spent eight years at Stamford Bridge together and their era was no doubt Chelsea's most successful era.
The pair helped Chelsea to League titles, League Cups, FA Cups including the 'holy grail' Uefa Champions League.
Chelsea came close to winning the Champions League trophy in 2008 when they narrowly lost on penalty to Manchester United on penalties.
But in 2012 one man stood tall, especially in the final in Munich and that man was Didier Drogba, his last minute goal gave Chelsea a chance.

The game eventually went into penalties and Drogba converted the last spot kick to give Chelsea their first UCL trophy.
Drogba and Lampard have both called time on their playing careers, both choosing America as the last country to play in before retiring.
Lampard is the Blues' all-time leading goalscorer, while Drogba sits fourth on the list.
Drogba was labelled a big game player and Frank Lampard in an interview was full of praise for the former team mate.
“I always say Didier Drogba and John Terry [were my favourite to play alongside], for different reasons so it’s like a double-headed answer really,” Lampard told Copa90.

“John, I wouldn’t say he’s underrated because everyone appreciates how good he was but I think he’s underrated on the ball, how good he was.

“Didier for me was amazing, to have him in your team in a final, you felt Didier in the dressing room before a big game that it was a different Didier, he was like an animal.
“His preparation, the intensity in his eyes and then he always produced.”
Both Lampard and Drogba ended their careers in America, but since leaving Chelsea the Blues have not done entirely badly.
