Governor Nasir El-Rufai has said some states showing interest in conducting competency tests for primary school teachers in public schools in their respective states have contacted Kaduna state.

The governor via a message on Twitter on Monday, November 13, said the Kaduna state will continue to share its experience with other states so as to salvage the education sector in Nigeria.
He made the statement shortly after the Kogi state commissioner for education, Tolorunleke, led the state's delegation to Kaduna state to understudy the competency test conducted for primary school teachers in public schools so as to replicate the same in Kogi state.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has backed the plans by Governor Nasir El-Rufai to sack 22,000 Kaduna teachers under an educational reform being undertaken by the Kaduna state government.
The president gave his backing to the reform at a special retreat of the federal executive council in Abuja on Monday, November 13.
Speaking at the event, Buhari stated that the effect of the decay in the education sector is glaring and vowed that his administration would change the situation for the better.
He said it is a serious situation when teachers cannot pass the exams they're supposed to administer to their students, adding that it underscores the urgent need for comprehensive national reform.
