A military joint patrol exercise tagged ‘Operation Harbin Kunama II’ is set to kick off in Zamfara state, Premium Times reports.
The development was made public by Mansur Dan-Ali, the minister of defense, in a chat with newsmen in Gusau.

NAIJ.com gathers that the minister disclosed that the exercise would begin in December, and would be just like Operation Awatse in the South-west and Operation Crocodile Smile II in the South-south.
He further disclosed that the Military would continue carrying out various anti-terrorism operations with different code names, in various geopolitical zones.
The minister stated that the aim of these exercises was to completely stamp out terrorism so that “people can continue to live in peace and enjoy the dividends of democracy.”
President Muhammadu Buhari previously launched the first phase of the exercise, Operation Harbin Kunama I, in July 2016.

Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that troops of the 81 Division of the Nigerian army on October 7, launched their 2017 training exercise tagged Operation Crocodile Smile in Lagos and Ogun state.
The southwest exercise is expected to last three weeks and end on October 28, 2017.
The spokesman of the division, Lieutenant Colonel Olaolu Daudu, in a statement, disclosed that the exercise will also avail troops the opportunity to sharpen combat skills in the conduct of land base as well as joint riverine operations.
