NAIJ.com gathers that the aide disclosed that several attempts had been made on Maina’s life during the administration of the immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan.
According to Fasakin, his boss had to go underground as assassins had previously shot at him 5 times.
Fasakin futher disclosed that he wouldn’t advise Maina to come out of hiding even if the Senate offered him protection.
He stated: “I would not advise him to come out because there was a petition against some members of the seventh Senate for having collected N3bn from some pension thieves.
“The petition is with the ICPC and the EFCC; we haven’t got the report up to this moment.
“The only way out, most likely, would have been for Mr President, in his position as the president of the country, to inaugurate a commission of enquiry like Justice Chukwudifu Oputa Panel, do all the activities on the television, then we would advise him to come out.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the sacked chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina, spoke out from hiding, saying he was being persecuted for his efforts at curbing corruption in Nigeria.
Maina, who had gone into hiding since President Muhammadu Buhari issued instructions for his sack, said he was being subjected to media trial because he stopped pension thieves from stealing N5.32 billion monthly from the office of the Head of Service and police pension office alone.
