Chelsea are reportedly ready to rival La Liga giants Fc Barcelona for the signing of Brazilian ace Arthur who currently players for Copa Libertadores champions Gremio.
The Premier League Champions are in search for Cesc Fabregas' long time replacement and the Chelsea hierarchy see Arthur as a valid replacement for the Spaniard.
The schemer was named Man of the Match last week in in Copa Libertadores final his side won for the first time in 22 years.

And, according to the Mirror, his burgeoning reputation has alerted bosses at Stamford Bridge and Camp Nou who feel he could revitalise their midfields.

Arthur was pictured wearing a Barcelona shirt and standing alongside a representative of the Spanish club last week.
The Brazilian performances with Gremio has raised so many eyebrows and he has drawn comparisons with Barcelona Legends Xavi and Andres Iniesta.
Chelsea might even have an advantage in the negotiations as Gremio are fuming with Barcelona for pulling one of their infamous transfer tricks.

Although Arthur was pictured putting on a Barcelona jersey but he has come out to downplay it by saying: "On the Barcelona matter, they did speak with me. We had a meeting, but I want to say that there’s nothing final.
"Nothing has been defined and I did not sign anything. I am a Gremio player."
The contact with Barcelona has angered Gremio, which could open the door to Chelsea. According to reports reaching NAIJ.com, the Premier League champions are interested in the midfielder, seeing him as a long-term replacement for Cesc Fabregas.
