The group faulted the governor's gesture as a breach of Section 10 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), which provides that the government of the federation or of a state shall not adopt any religion as state religion, Vanguard reports.
The state coordinator of NACOMYO, Alhaji Tajudeen Olutope Ahmed, in a statement said the body was not against any form of child welfare or development.
It however expressed worry that the state’s resources were being used to promote a particular religion.
The group called on the governor to suspend his planned celebration of Christians and Christianity during the festive period.

It said: "In the alternative, if the governor is determined to go ahead with his planned provision of Christmas dresses, he should disclose the budget for the dresses to the public and be ready to expend the same amount during the forthcoming Muslim festival. This is the justice of the matter.”
But the governor’s chief press secretary, Idowu Adelusi, has dismissed the claim by the group, saying Fayose has been fair to all.
Adelusi said the governor distributes ram and even goes to the mosque to felicitate with Muslim during their Muslim holidays and questioned why the group was raising dust over this gesture by the governor.
Meanwhile, the federal government has listed steps Nigerians need to be safe during the next Christmas and the New Year celebration.
