- Innoson on Friday withdrew an ex parte application filed against EFCC and GTB
- The application was withdrawn after the lawyer to GTB showed up in court and claimed to know about the charges
- Innoson alleged that his recent arrest and detention by the EFCC was at the instance of GTB
As controversy continues to trail his arrest, the chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of Innoson Nigeria Limited, Innocent Chukwuma, on Friday, withdrew an ex parte charges he filed against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB).
The company and it's owner, had on Thursday, December 21, filed an ex parte charges against the EFCC and GTB over his arrest which he described as unlawful and unjust.
The application was filed at the Federal High Court, Lagos by Chukwuma's lawyer, claiming that his arrest by EFCC was at the instance of GTB.
An ex parte application is a legal proceeding brought by one person in the absence of and without representation or notification of other parties.

The Punch reports that the judge in charge, Justice Hadiza Shagari, had adjourned till Friday, December 22, for hearing.
However, the GTB lawyer, Adebowale Kamoru, showed up in court on Friday, claiming his client was aware of Innoson’s move to get injunction against them.
Kamoru prayed the court to let his client to be heard in the case.
After Kamoru's plea to the court, Innoson's counsel, Prof. MacCarty Mbaduagha, said he had been instructed by his client to withdraw the ex parte application.
Justice Shagari granted Mbaduagha's prayer for the case to be withdraw.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Innoson boss denied EFCC's accusation that he is guilty of forging tax documents.
Also denying that he was ever invited by the EFCC, Chukwuma noted that he is still not aware why he was arrested and treated in an unfair manner
While answering questions from newsmen at Akanu Ibiam International Airport on arrival in Enugu, on Thursday, December 21, he stated the he was yet uncertain what his reaction to the EFCC will be.
