The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is getting set to announce a new wage review for corps members, Vanguard reports.
The development was disclosed by the NYSC director general, Brigadier General Suleiman Kazaure, during a visit to the Enugu state NYSC orientation camp on Saturday, November 2.

NAIJ.com gathers that the NYSC DG disclosed that the corp members wages would be addressed when the committee set up by federal government to review the minimum wage releases its report.
He urged corps members to be patient, telling them that the report would put smiles on their faces.
Kazaure admonished corps members to make their service year fruitful and to take advantage of the various skills acquisition programmes which would be available to them in camp.
Corps members at the Enugu orientation camp were also assured by the state coordinator, , Alhaji Ahmed Ikaka, that there were plans underway to address the perennial water challenges at the camp.
Ikaka further disclosed that a perimeter fence would be constructed to address the camp’s security challenges.

Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that Brigadier Sulaiman Zakari Kazaure, Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), announced that there might be an increase in corps members' allowances.
However, he made it clear that any increase in the allowance of corps members would be determined by the introduction of a new minimum wage for workers.
He stated: “The NYSC allowance is determined by the national minimum wage. We are waiting on the government to take a decision on the new wage structure before we know what to do."
