Gernot Rohr who is the head coach of the Nigeria Super Eagles has confirmed that 18-year-old goalkeeper Maduka Okoye will be available for selection next year.
Maduka Okoye is a German born goalie who currently plays for Fortuna Dusseldorf, and he is among the rising football stars in the world.
The Super Eagles are currently short of options in the goalkeeping department and many Nigerian football lovers have been clamoring for the return of Vincent Enyeama.

Since goalkeeper Carl Ikeme has been diagnosed with leukemia, Ezenwa has been the first choice, but he will now face competition from Maduka Okoye, Daniel Akpeyi and Uzoho.

“There’s another goalkeeper we have in our sight now. He plays with Fortuna Dusseldorf in Germany, Maduka Okoye, born in Germany but has agreed to play for Nigeria.
“We will look at him in the coming games to see if he will be able to push for a spot in the team we are preparing for the World Cup”. Rohr explained to reporters.
