- The tithing debate seems to be endless
- Many pastors have come to speak for or against the 10 percent of earnings payment in churches
- The argument which began with OAP Daddy Freeze has been the topic of discussion for a while
- Just recently, Pastor Tunde Bakare weighed in on the debate in an interview
The issue of tithing which has been a major discussion on several social media platforms seems endless. Ever since, OAP Daddy Freeze pointed out the flaws in the practice, many pastors have shared their views on what they believe is a direct law from God.
Just recently, Pastor Tunde Bakare weighed in on the controversial debate and shared his opinion on the tithe matter. Speaking to BBC Yoruba, the head pastor of Latter Rain Assembly stressed that tithing is not compulsory.
He reiterated that the practice is not mandated and people should feel free to practice what they choose to believe in. In the interview, he said: "There's no gun pointed at anyone, mandating them to pay tithe. Anyone who believes in paying tithe should do so and whoever doesn't can leave it. It's not compulsory."

His stance is similar to that of Daddy Freeze whose argument is that such practice is enriching pastors as opposed to being a commitment made to God by every Christian believer.
Pastor Bakare also hammered that: "Every church where the pastors are getting fatter while the congregation is getting lean, God will judge them all."
Meanwhile, Daddy Freeze recently mocked Bishop Oyedepo for saying it’s an insult to claim he is worth $150m
