- Zinedine Zidane reveals Alvaro Morata was key to his success last season
- Real Madrid won Champions League and La Liga titles
- After which the 25-year-old joined Chelsea in a deal worth £65m
Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane believes Chelsea striker, Alvaro Morata was instrumental to his side’s successful campaigns last season.
The 25-year-old was part of the Galacticos team that won the Uefa Champions League and a La Liga title last season.
But the Spaniard felt he wasn’t getting enough playing time, and therefore joined the Blues in a for five year deal worth £65 million.

And the manager Frenchman, who led the club to back to back Champions league triumph, says it was wrong for his former player to have claimed he was only being fielded for less important games.
According to the manager, every game is a top class game, only strategies employed and the kinds of players that will fit into a match day differ. Reasons some of the players lament when they don’t get to play the likes of PSG or Barcelona.
“Alvaro Morata can think he didn’t play in important games, but he would be wrong," Zidane said.
“There are no unimportant games, just different scenarios where you have to play in different ways with different players and a different strategy.

“Of course I understand that, for example, everybody wants to play against Paris Saint Germain, they are most excited to play in that game, than to play against a team in the La Liga that is below us on the table.
“But if we take such decision based on that we would be wrong. They have to know they are important and if they’ve played 20 or 25 games or more, it means they were important in winning the title.
“So, Alvaro Morata was really important last year."
Real Madrid have moved to third on the Spanish League table for the first time in weeks despite starting their 2017/18 campaign on a shaky note.
They also hold a 3-1 advantage as they head to France for the second leg of their crucial Champions League round of 16 second leg clash against Paris Saint Germain next week.
Madrid are the most successful club in Europe, with 12 UCL titles since the competition started years back.
