Schalke 04 star midfielder Max Meyer has rejected a new contract with the german club thus handing Arsenal and Liverpool a huge boost.
Meyer has declared himself ready to end his nine-season stay with the Bundesliga giants by turning down their second offer of an improved £5m-a-year deal, according to reports by Sport Bild.
He will be a free agent in July, and will likely make the Premier League his next destination.
Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel while reacting to the situation of Meyer said: "All the talking has been done.

"It's now time to make a decision."
Versatile Meyer can operate in a variety of midfield positions, but he has excelled this season since coach Domenico Tedesco switched him to a more defensive role.
The Oberhausen-born Meyers has made 25 appearances, scoring once, to help Schalke go third in the Bundesliga.

They are in line for Champions League football next season, and one point off second-placed Borussia Dortmund and 20 behind leaders Bayern Munich.
He won the European Under-21 Championship with Germany last year, and has collected four senior caps.
