Mrs Aisha Buhari, the wife of Nigeria's president on Thursday, August 3, returned to Nigeria where she attended a public function in Owerri, Imo state.
NAIJ.com gathered that Aisha was received at the Sam Mbakwe Cargo International Airport in Owerri by Governor Rochas Okorocha and his wife, Nneoma Okorocha, the organiser of the “annual August meeting.”
Suleiman Haruna, Director of Information to the wife of the president, said Aisha Buhari first landed in Abuja, from where she proceeded to Owerri, where she served as Mother of the Day for the 2017 August meeting tagged “Building Bridges of Friendship across the Niger.”
Mrs Buhrai speaking at the event said: “This gathering is a celebration of the resourcefulness of womanhood. It is important because at meetings like this, Igbo women gather to discuss developmental issues and peaceful coexistence at the community levels.”
The president's wife while assuring women of her constant support to all programmes that would promote their well-being, said that women, as mothers, had the enormous task of building solid bridges that would serve as a platform for national unity.
NAIJ.com previously reported that Aso Rock Villa has reportedly prepared its staff for the president’s return.
