- Osinbajo ordered uniterrupted power supply for Ariaria market
- This is to ensure good production from the market famous of production of made-in-Nigeria goods
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has ordered the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) to provide uninterrupted power supply for the Ariaria International Market, Abia state.
This is in a bid to promote the market which is largely recognised as the producer of made-in Nigeria goods.
This was announced by Osinbajo's spokesperson, Laolu Akande, in a series of tweets he made on Tuesday, August 1.
According to Akande, REA has now commenced a technical study to collect data and determine the Market's power requirements.

The governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, had earlier made a strong and persuasive case to the federal government for the power intervention in Ariaria Market.
President Aba Chamber of Commerce, Sir Emma Nwakpadolu, thanked Osinbajo, Abia state government and the Federal Ministry of Power, House and Works for their plans for the market.
Akande said the leadership of various clusters in the Market have agreed to assist the REA with all the support required to implement the project.
The federal government delegation to Ariaria market was led by the MD,REA, Mrs Damilola Ogunbiyi.

Abia state government delegation was led by Mr. Chinenye Nwogu and Sam Hart.
Recall that NAIJ.com earlier reported that Acting president Yemi Osinbajo, while receiving a delegation of some top functionaries of Abia State Government, Aba businessmen and industrialists, called on Nigerians to support Made-in-Nigeria goods and join hands to support and promote industries located in Aba.
Osinbanjo said if Aba industries can be supported and developed, Nigeria will have no business importing from China as the local industries will be able to sustain the economy.
