About two days after her death, Kishi who was beside her when she jumped, told some of their mutual friends including one Alex Gough who was Lara's flatmate, that they had discussed several methods of killing themselves together. Saying that if someone wanted to die, it was 'cruel to make them stay alive'.
Another flatmate identified as Solene Rebibo, said Kishi 'seemed comfortable' while talking about suicide with them.

An inquest was opened, and investigations claim Lara had suffered some form of depression for about four years, and decided to take the LSD overdose the night before she killed herself.
Proving the depression story to be true, Dr Niklas Serning, a Psychotherapist, said Lara had been his patient for about one year. Stating that he had seen her every week and that she was 'extremely bright' and would always discuss the meaning of life with him.
CCTV cameras showed Kishi had tried twice to stop Lara from jumping before eventually giving up and walking away. However, Lara's mother identified as Olu, said “she could have saved her.”
