Former governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido, has categorically ruled out any possibility of abandoning the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC), The Cable reports.
Lamido made his comments during a meeting with former PDP speakers of state houses of assembly, in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

He stated: “No matter how hard I try, if I move to All Progressive Congress (APC), my soul will not follow me”.
NAIJ.com gathers that the former governor also claimed that if not for the defectors from the PDP, the ruling APC party would have been defeated during the general elections in 2015.
He urged the leadership of the opposition PDP party, to ensure that they conduct a free and fair National Convention in December.
Lamido also reacted to the recent declaration to run for the presidency, by the Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose.
According to Lamido, even though the PDP had already zoned its presidential ticket for the 2019 elections to the northern part of the country, the Ekiti governor still had a right to vie for the position.
He called on his fellow party members to be courageous in the face of persecution.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that the 2019 presidential posters of Alhaji Sule Lamido, a former governor of Jigawa state, surfaced at the Lagos secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Thursday, April 6.
The posters bearing Lamido’s picture were pasted at strategic areas of the secretariat, right from the entrance.
