A member of the House of Representatives Herman Hembe has been asked to return all salaries and allowances he earned since June 2015.
In its ruling, the Supreme Court on Wednesday, September 20, while ruling on appeal by the lawmaker to refer his case back to the lower court, the court said Hembe remains sacked.
The apex court in its ruling directed that Dorothy Mato be sworn in as the authentic member to represent Vandeikiya/Konshisha federal constituency of Benue state.

The judges on the matter led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria Walter Onnoghen said the law does not allow the court to review rulings on an already decided matter.
The judges also said the Supreme Court not only takes the final decision on a matter but makes polices and as such cannot go back on its decisions.

Onnoghen said: “You cannot call on us to review that decision we have taken whether right or wrong. Right or wrong, that decision remains final.”
“If there is any other court above this, then you can challenge this decision.”
“There must be an end to litigation and Hon Hembe should understand that the judgment of 23rd June 2017 had settled every dispute between parties," Onnoghen said.
The chief judge also said Hembe through his application is also urging the Apex court to set aside its judgment.

“It is impossible because the Supreme Court is the final court and by virtue of the 1999 Constitution, our decision is final," he said.
The court also awarded the as damages, the sum of N1 million against Hembe in favour of Mato.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that the Supreme Court affirmed its past veridct on the sacked lawmaker.
The court in its ruling declared Dorathy Mato winner of the APC party ticket for the constituency and asked Hembe to vacate his seat at the lower chamber.
The court also demanded that all monies earned by the former lawmaker since June 2015 be returned to the government coffers.
