Goals from Rhian Brewster, Morgan Gibbs-White, two from Phil Foden and another from Marc Guehi made it a fantastic night for English football, less than six months after the Three Lions Under-20s claimed the World Cup in South Korea.
England could have taken the lead within a minute in front of the 80,000 crowd in Kolkata when the lively Brewster combined with Gibbs-White but his shot was saved by Alvaro Fernandez.
Against the run of play Spain took the lead when Sergio Gomez smartly finished from close range from what looked like an offside position.

However, replays showed Three Lions full-back Steven Sessegnon played the Barcelona youngster onside for the opener.
Gomez doubled Spain's lead with a fabulous strike on 30 minutes after good work Cesar Gelabert who pulled the ball back smartly.
The momentum truly shifted in England's favour after the break when Foden and Sessegnon combined down the right and the winger's cross was met by Gibbs-White to level.

A great reaction save by Curtis Anderson from Juan Miranda a minute later kept it level.
But with 20 minutes left, the oustanding Foden put England in front.
There was more great work from winger Hudson-Odoi and his intelligent cross was finished off by Foden.
England finished it asGuehi got the fourth, forcing the ball home after Spain failed to clear from a cross. Foden made it five and sent his side down into the history books with his late strike on the break.
