Embattled President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe has met with the country’s army chief, Gen Constantino Chiwenga, with a Catholic cleric Father Fidelis Mukonori and South African envoys.
BBC reports that Zimbabwe's state-run, Herald newspaper published photos of President Robert Mugabe's meeting with army chief Gen Constantino Chiwenga, Catholic cleric Father Fidelis Mukonori and South African envoys.

NAIJA.com reported that according to Reuters, an intelligence source disclosed that despite mediation by a Catholic priest to enable his graceful exit, President Robert Mugabe is allegedly insisting that he remains Zimbabwe’s only legitimate ruler.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that Mugabe, his wife Grace and two key figures from her G40 political faction were under house arrest at Mugabe's Blue House compound in Harare, insisting that the 93-year-old would finish his presidential term.
