- Jose Mourinho planning to shake hands with Antonio Conte to end feud
- The war of words started in 2016 when United lost to Chelsea 4-0 at the Stamford Bridge
- Meanwhile, Man United won the reverse fixture at Old Trafford by a lone goal
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is willing to end his personal beef with Antonio Conte when his side battle Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday, February 25.
The duo have been at war of words since October 2016 after the Blues coach celebrated his side’s 4-0 thrashing of the Red Devils in a league game at the Stamford Bridge.
But the feud became worsened with the Portuguese tactician referring to the former Juventus handler as a ‘clown’ on the touchline in one of the interviews he granted in January.
A description that was seen as an insult by Conte, who responded by claiming the Portuguese must be “senile” given his own celebrations in the past.
The former Real Madrid took the matter out of hands by saying: “What never happened to me — and will never happen — is to be suspended for match-fixing.”

Making reference to Conte’s four-month ban during his reign at Juventus in 2012-13 for failing to report match- fixing at his previous club Siena, but was subsequently cleared of any wrongdoing.
But the Italian born manager was furious Mourinho had taken the issue out of hands by saying: “When you insult a man or another person, you are a little man and I think he is a little man.”
And ahead of their Sunday clash, Chelsea coach says he has moved on, adding that he cannot wait to face the former Inter Milan boss, according to The Sun.

“Life will go on and I’m not worried about him.
“It’s a good opportunity when we play United to clarify with him if there is anything. To meet face to face.
“I’m ready, I don’t know if he is.”
And in a bid to end the war of words that has existed between them a little over a year ago, Mourinho says he will shake hands with the former Italy manager this weekend.
Having lost the first leg at the Stamford Bridge earlier in the season, United will be hoping they can beat their visitors to ensure they maintain their second position on the log.
