The leader of the #ResumeOrResign protest, Charles 'Charly Boy' Oputa, has denied claims that he received N300 million from Nigeria's largest opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and some of its governors.
Speaking to NAIJ.com on Monday, August 14, the musician and TV presenter said it is unfortunate that propaganda has taken the centre stage of discussions around important issues in Nigeria.
"Shebi the person wey dem talk say give me the money to organize protest don come out. Shebi the person wey dem talk say give me the money don come out talk say em no give," Charly Boy said in Pidgin English.

He also said he and his group is determined to fight to ensure the redirection of governance in Nigeria.
"One thing I am sure I have that they (pro-Buhari protesters) do not have is the tenacity to withstand any of this.
I no dey do any job na, I should have retired but I'm ready to fight this till thy kingdom come.
How many of us dey the group? Na em fear hold them like this... What are they really scared of?" He asked.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that a civil society organization Centre for Truth and Justice (CTJ) alleged that the ace musician received N300 million from politicians and governor in PDP to organize the anti-Buhari protest which commenced last Monday.

CTJ in its allegation said a former governor of Ondo state Olusegun Mimiko and Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe state paid the money to the group through its leaders.
However, Mimiko in a fresh statement on Monday, August 14, denied claims that he or any of his party members were involved in the ongoing protest against the long stay of President Muhammadu Buhari in London.
