On Thursday, August 24, President Muhammadu Buhari signed instruments of ratification for a number of bilateral agreements strengthening the government’s anti-corruption fight.
NAIJ.com gathered that the ratification which is an important step, is in line with the delivery of President Buhari’s anti-corruption economic diversification vision.
The agreements signed by the president covered anti-corruption, tax administration and intellectual property protection.
"I have directed all relevant government agencies and bodies to commence immediate implementation of these agreements," President Buhari said.
The president's spokesman Femi Adesina has released a comprehensive list of the international agreements signed as follows:

1. Agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters with the United Arab Emirates.
2. Agreement on mutual legal assistance in commercial matters with the United Arab Emirates.
3. Agreement on the transfer of sentenced persons with the United Arab Emirates.
4. Extradition treaty with the United Arab Emirates.
5. Charter for the Lake Chad Basin between Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Libya, Niger and Republic of Chad.
6. African Tax Admin agreement on mutual assistance in tax matters.
7. World Intellectual Property Organization performances and phonograph treaty.
8. Agreement on the World Intellectual Property Organization treaty on audio-visual performances.
9. Marrakesh Treaty to facilitate access to published works for persons who are blind, visually impaired or otherwise.

On other matters, NAIJ.com reported that President Muhammadu Buhari will discuss the spending of the Paris Club refund by states with governors as well as the agitation for restructuring.
Buhari called a meeting of governors at Aso Villa which will take place on Friday, August 25.
