Even though President Muhammadu Buhari has not specifically declared his intention to seek re-election in 2019, his campaign posters have been seen conspicuously displayed in Jigawa state.
This is as groups in the north are moving for his replacement by supporting Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano, and Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president.
It was learnt that residents of Jigawa woke up to find the posters of the ailing president seeking re-election. A building was dedicated to this move as his campaign office in Dutse, the state capital.

A major campaign banner on the building carried the message: ‘Buhari’s 2019 Campaign Headquarters in Jigawa state’.
One of the other posters read: ‘PMB 2019, Buhari for President 2019, APC Chanji, Nigeria Sai Buhari’.
Buhari has been in London since May 7 for medical reasons.
Recently, his spokespersons, led by the information minister, Lai Mohammed, paid him a courtesy visit where the president said he was prepared to return to the country but was waiting for further instructions from his doctors.
NAIJ.com recently reported that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was ready to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2019 presidential election if the party will assure him of an automatic ticket.

The report quoted This Day as stating that the PDP in Adamawa made the arrangement for the former vice president to return to the party but he has asked for guarantee before leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC).
