But to the huge surprise of the former Borussia Dortmund star, his new side suffered a shock defeat as they lost 2-1, but still managed to progress to the Round of 16.
And Aubameyang showed his loyalties as he showed his delight at the defender's strike, posting a picture to his Instagram story with updates of the scoreline.
While he also upload a snap of him and his girlfriend Alysha Behague with their two children, as they watched on from a private box. He captioned the photo of himself, his partner and sons Curtys and Pierre Jr donning Arsenal gear, the 28-year-old said: "Next round #arsenal #yagunnersya #family #stadium#aubameyang."
