Spanish club Barcelona have been hit with a blow following the injury of their star defender Nelson Semedo who will be out of action for the next five weeks.
The Portuguese international was forced to leave the field in the 85th minute of Barcelona’s 6-1 win over Girona on Saturday night, February 24.
Semedo is to miss two important games which is a La Liga match versus second-placed Atletico Madrid scheduled for March 4, followed ten days later by the critical duel against Chelsea in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16.
Barcelona have now confirmed that the 24-year-old player will be out of action for five weeks.
Barcelona are still topping the Spanish La Liga table with 65 points after 25 games played this season.
