- Iyede women protesters have shut down Ughelli-Asaba road, Delta state over herdsmen attack
- The protesters said their major pain was the death and trauma caused by the Fulani herdsmen
- They said it's unfortunate that the government does not even care about their plight
Hundreds of protesters made up mainly of women in Iyede community, Isoko North local government area, Delta state, have closed down the axis of the busy Ughelli - Asaba road over the attack of herdsmen in the area.
Vanguard reports that the women collaborate with the community youths and men swing into mass action denying vehicles access to and fro on that axis.
NAIJ.com gathered that they claimed that the Fulani herdsmen prevented from going to farms.

One of the protesters said: ''Our major pain are the deaths and trauma being suffered by our mothers and young girls at the mercy of marauding herdsmen.
''If we can no longer go to our farms again because of herdsmen, on what do we now survive as poor farmers.

''It is as much inciting that the government of the day does not even care about our plight. We will remain here.
''No car will past through Iyede till those who should care give assurance that the herdsmen are out of our lives. They are no more welcomed in our land''.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that many people killed in a clash between suspected Fulani herdsmen and villagers in Otukpa, Ogbadibo local government area of Benue state.
Reports have it that a police station was also destroyed while many people were injured and rendered homeless in the attack that happened on Wednesday, August 9.
